Position Summary:

Annie Mulz is a strong third year start-up clothing company looking to be a market leader in the $3.64 billion streetwear & lifestyle niche of the Apparel Market. The brand is based on the concept of Natural Law- which states that we all abide by laws in nature. Our company creates high quality garments and accessories for the young metropolitan male and female. We provide our brand experience through tee shirts, button downs, outerwear, and accessories. Our business strategy, products, and brand image offer our customers a unique lifestyle, this makes Annie Mulz a leader in the marketplace and a favorite brand of trendsetters.

We are currently seeking a Videographer Intern to be a part of the Annie Mulz Team. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, self directed and be passionate about his/her work.

Essential Functions:

The Videographer Intern will work under the supervision of our Marketing Director and will spend a minimum of 5-10 hours/ week conceptualizing, producing, shooting and editing all video productions in support of Annie Mulz initiatives. Video productions will include:

Company meetings
Events
Sponsored shows/ concerts
Group outings

In addition, the Videographer Intern will edit, compress, and assemble final audio/ video material; ensure consistency and relevancy to production; monitor quality of end product

Required Skills:

· Must be able to post/embed content using Vimeo and YouTube

· Proficient knowledge of:

o Microsoft Office

o AVID (must own or have access to AVID software)

o Photoshop

o After Effects

o Adobe Creative Suite/ Adobe Premiere (preferred)

Qualifications:

· 1 year applicable work experience

· 21 years of age (preferred)

· Owns or has access to his/her own camera

· Must be able to name the leader of ‘The Thunder Cats’

A few weeks back a good friend and inspiration to us, Deo Mwano, had the opporunity to speak at TEDxAmoskeagMillyard in Manchester, New Hampshire. The topic of his talk was the "Unexpected", something that Deo is used to. Take a few minutes to hear his story and watch his performance.

Last week I flew out to the Bay Area on some AM business. Our sales manager Jon put me up for a few days, s/o to his couch, and had the chance to build on our west coast operations. I spent my nights in San Jose with the homies, and my days in San Francisco. My agenda included meetings with stores, PR firms, and NFL atheletes... In the end, my trip was highly successful. We workin over here. In my travels I took a few pics from some of the notable stores I visited such as Brooklyn Circus, UNDFTD, and Stussy to name a few. So, here is Matthew Elijah O's San Francisco/San Jose store guide.

Purist - 55 Devine St, San Jose

I'm starting off with the hidden gem of my trip just a few blocks away from the crib in San Jose is Purist. This spot carries only the most premium brands in the streetwear/lifestyle market such as ACRONYM, Comme de Garcon, Orignal Fake, Futura, Bedwin, and Atmos. The store has a great story and the people there were super nice, no boushyness here. If your ever in San Jose, visiting Purist is a must.

Black Scale - 55 Grant Ave, San Francisco

Black Scale is of my personal favorite spots. Located on the second floor accessible only through a blacked out elevator foyer. The store has a clean dark aesthetic which creates an interesting juxtaposition with the front bay windows allowing natural light throughout the entire space. I always like Black Scale for their branding, as well as promotion through artists and their flagship store lives up to the image.

The Brooklyn Circus SF - 1521 Fillmore St, San Francisco

There is no better brand out there than The Brooklyn Circus, period. A meticulous attention to detail translates their vision through a unique brand experience. They raise the standard of branding not only in clothing but set an example for any product or market. I've had the pleasure of meeting the minds behind The BKc on a few occasions and their brand reflects their passion.

UNDFTD SF - 516 Hayes St, San Francisco

New on the block is UNDFTD, which opened last month in the old HUF SF location on Hayes Street. A consistent front runner, Undefeated bring a unique sports oriented branding experience not only through their products but their stores, they have seven of them btw. The dudes at the SF store were mad cool too. I'm looking forward to getting back to this spot and copping some of their sneaker collaborations and kicking it.

Stussy SF - 1409 Haight St, San Francisco

Smack dab in the middle of Upper Haight street is the Stussy SF store. The original street wear brand from the 80's, Stussy has been up and down, right now its up. I dug everything in the store, they make great products at a good price. Personally I lean towards the Stussy Deluxe stuff but the Haight store had some choice pieces.

Kidrobot - 1512 Haight St, San Francisco

Tokyo original Kidrobot has one of their five stores in SF. I always loved the unique style and growth of the brand from toys to a lifestyle. The store itself was a breathe of fresh air from all the simple and clean aesthetics of most of the stores. The atmosphere is a mash of colors that draw your attention to the uniquely detailed toys.

Benny Gold - 3169 16th St, San Francisco

My last stop and one of the standouts, not for the store aesthetic, but for the design and personal branding. Benny Gold made his name as one of the original designers for HUF. He developed a unique typography which is focused through his brand.

This past Thursday evening Annie Mulz took part in the third annual Arts For Hearts at Ned Devines in Faneuil Hall. Over 300 people came out to show our support for the American Heart Assocation. In the end we sold over 40 of our "Arts For Hearts MXXI" Collaboration with TallBoy Industries and helped raise over $7,000 for the American Heart Association! Just to make sure everyone out there knows that we are working night and day, and I mean night and day on the next phase of our company, I want to give you an inside peek at our new website U.I. (User Interface). This is a just a structural build of how our new site will look and function. None of the content is real...just for placement... just for fun.

Our goal with the new site is to make an easy to navigate site with a functional central theme. The bulk of the project is creating our shop... for that we are bringing in an outside developer. Believe me, if we are paying someone to do something, its going to be something super ill.

Soon you will be hearing more and more about The Pride... and if your reading this you will most likely be one of the first people with invites. But, until we release more info here is a look at the shop & product page.

I'm Talking Like It's Just You and Me

Today, Tropical Storm Irene is knocking on my window. Something tells me she's not looking for a cup of sugar. None the less, for the past 5 days I couldn't turn the channel, look at my texts, or read The Book without someone telling me how to prepare for this Hurricane....and as it comes and goes with little notice, it make me think.

Irene is running up the East Coast right now:

As it passes there is damage from NC to NY that threatens the lives and livelihoods of millions. And this is a Cat 1 storm... where am I going with this....oh yea, Hurricane Katrina.

My thoughts are simple, if the East Coast has made every preparation and taken every precaution for Irene...How was this same level not exceeded or met for a Category 5/4 storm in the gulf?

An article crossed my eye when checking the news. This article cited The Great Atlantic Hurricane of 1944, a Category 2 storm. The storm surge was 9 feet high with reported waves between 25-30 feet. One account talks of a tidal waves over 50 feet. This storm left between 300-400 dead...

If the damage of a Cat 2 storm was this intense, the power of a Cat5/4 is exponentially worse. Yet, under this assumption, how was it that New Orleans was under prepared and neglected. We have to assume that F.E.M.A. understand historical storm data and acts upon that ... or maybe not....

But, if your looking for some direction towards a good answer to this query I think this guy is onto something:

So I had a good talk with our newly hired social director, Jeff aka @ThaddeusJeffres and he had some thoughts:

"I know people probably tell you this all the time but I would really recommend getting the blog constantly updated. You and Mike are very interesting, opinionated people (at least from 3am conversations we've about the future of the human species haha) that are living sort of a "How To Make it in America" lifestyle as corny as that sounds. As much of a hassle blogging can be I think you should do a weekly update. Could be about the brand or just what's going on in your lives. At least have Demetri or the Pride Leaders do it. The blog posts will showcase the characters of AM. A lot of people have clothing lines but not a lot of people are DOING what you guys do or as are cool people in real life not just on the internet. Meetings in Cali, parties, an actual office. People eat that shit up, it shows that all this is attainable and at the same there's a lot of hard work that gets put in. Regardless if I buy The Hundreds clothing anymore, I still visit their site on the reg because Bobby is a good writer, with an opinion. I understand that you guys are very busy but having a good blog is as effective as throwing events (also a lot cheaper). Get a camera and start writing."

Thaddeus is right, we have been neglecting our blog and the power that it can have. It's definitely not our thing to put our lives, business happening, and opinions on the interweb - But, I think its time everyone sees what really goes on at Annie Mulz, who we are, and what it takes to get a company off the ground. Today, I vouch for Mike and the others that we will start to update the blog with REAL CONTENT of what we do. It might not be glamourous, flashy, or popular...but it will be real.

Last month we had the pleasure of sponsoring Sounds For Hounds - A benefit show for the MSPCA-Angell Animal Shelter here in Roxbury, MA . If you recall we made some great logo tees for the event which sold out! The event was coordinated by our good friend and legendary Boston MC Esoteric, along with a bonkers set from him which included an appearance by Boba Fett and some Storm Troopers- the show featured Black El & Durkin, Quills (Moe Pope & Wobblesouce), The Dirty Dishes, Viva Viva, and The BladeRunners!

We have some seriously awesome projects that are going on around the new line, but this one inparticular is boss. We want to introduce you to our collaboration with the Boston Police S.W.A.T. Team.

The SWAT team is the best of the best; their tactics, skills, preparation, and hard work are second to none. Boston is one of the 10 highest risk urban areas in the United States, with that our SWAT team is one of the country’s most elite.

With the help of Officer Hicks we put together a something special for this one, here is a taste of the what we working on:

As part of Urban Shield, the Boston SWAT team competes with the best teams across the country, and this year the competition is being hosted in Boston.

This collaboration with be dropping with our Spring Summer “Night Predators” line on May 15^th and $5 of every one sold goes to the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

They've recently released pictures of their upcoming Fall/Winter shoe line, featuring three new models. The duck boot, called the Jimmy, the boat shoe, called the Miller, and the classic low-top called the Jericho. Add their original model, the Fitzsimmons, and you have a pretty good lineup of shoes. During the playoffs last year, Rajon Rondo was seen rockin' some pretty dope PE sneakers, and has continued that into the beginning part of this season. The shoes above are Rondos away PE. The thing about Rondo is, even though those are his "away" versions, he usually wears that black at home, and wears the "home" PE at the away games. Just like wearing his headband with the NBA logo upside-down, hitting threes at the end of the half, or dropping 20+ assists in a game, Rondo is always noticeable on the court, just like his shoes.
