Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Otis Ray Redding Jr. changed the Soul landscape in 1960 with a voice that conveyed emotion like no other; gaining the moniker "King of Soul". With such writting support from people like Sam Cooke, his music was unmistakable and unforgettable. Redding passed away at the age of 26 from a tragic plane crash. That was 43 years ago this month; but we still celebrate his music and life to this day. Off his third studio album Otis Blues: Otis Redding Sings Soul came such classics as A Change is Gonna Come, Respect, and Satisfaction. The album was released in 1965 and debuted at #75 on the pop charts & #1 in Black Albums. Take some time to catch up on his whole work and enjoy Otis Blues; Otis Reddings Sings Soul

Sapporo Space Barley Beer

Friday, December 11, 2009

Japanese beer brewery Sapporo has created a very limited run of a very special brew. Space Barley is exactly what is sounds like, this beer is made from ingredients grown on the international space station. 60 lucky lottery winners will have the opportunity to pay $115 dollars for a six pack of this out of this world beer. The implications here are that man can grown crops and food in space... plus get shwaysted too. (Via Swipe Life)

Lupe Fiasco - Solar Midnight

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

This track is off the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack. I think Weezy should take a look at this and take note on how to make a rock song, this is dope. Lupe shows his talent transcends genres. Look for his new album Lasers coming early 2010. (Via HypeBeast)
